Tripoli, Libya

The main entrance of the museum. Trees infront of the museum are date trees. This is the first time I see date tree.

From far, it looked very similar to palm oil tree, but when you go closer, you can see they are different. Initially the color of the fruits is in green, when it grows, it turns yellow and finally turns into red color.

Long time ago, these two pillars were used as landmark for sailors to identify the direction to Tripoli port. Now the port has gone, but the two pillars still preserved until today.

This is the Greenth Square. During week-end, many youngsters will come to the square, either strolling, play street basketball, street football etc.

This is one of the open air restaurant. Because of time constraint, we did not try the food in the stall. Otherwise, we will have the chance to try the real local Libyan food.

This is one of the government department building. It is a very old and nice building.

This building was a church long time ago, but it finally been converted to a mosque. That's why its design does not look like a normal mosque.

This is one of the main street in the city. As you can see, there are quite a number of people gather at the roadside. At here, they don't have big shopping complex as in other cities (i.e. Dubai, KL or Singapore), most shops are along the street. To me this is something special.

This is another corner of Greenth Square.

This is the poster of their president. In this country, you can see many of his poster/portrait. The number 37 means he has led the country for 37 years.

Beside this poster, we have also seen a theme, "Partners not wage workers" in many places (even in airport), but we don't know what is the meaning of it.

Actually, it may quite costly if they will have to change the poster every year just because they want to update the number of years.
