Trip to Phuket 3

It is about to rain, we quickly ran into a shop. During the few days trip in Phuket, it almost rains every evening.
The scene behind the trees has turned gray because of rain.

We had some food here. The stall is very simple and have only a few tables. We were adviced by the shoppers not to sit too near the road or else we will finally got wet.

I think it is due to raining, those people who are renting motor-boat at the beach is moving out from the beach.

The "tut-tut" or the so called Taxi are waiting at the beach for passenger. During the raining season, I think they will have better income.

This fellow is packing up his stuff quickly and trying to move out from the beach as soon as possible. You can feel that the rain is going to be a heavy one.

The rain comes from the right side of the beach, but looking at the left side of the beach, the weather is still look good.

This is "Ocean Plaza", where we spent about 2 hours here because of raining. When we leave the plaza, it was about 6.00 pm (which is about 7.00 pm in Malaysia), it was quite dark.

This is at the left side of the beach. If just looking at this photo, you may not know heavy rain is coming soon.

Trip to Phuket 2

Viewing from room I stayed, this is another side of the Patong town. At night, there are tourists crouded at the shops there.
I did not go there, but I think those are pubs or lounge.

I think this is an abandoned pond or construction site. A lot of garbages thrown here. Maybe it's too far away from the pond, it is not smelly at all from the room I stayed.

This is taken with the maximum lens zoom power of my camera. Can see the stall clearly along the street.
At night, this street is quite crouded.

There are constructions near the hill, I was trying to use my digital camera to zoom to the other of the hill, but I couldn't. I think got to upgrade my digi-cam.

After zoomed, I can only see the two constructions that look like water reservior.

This is the restaurant where we had our dinner, it is quite a nice place for dining. We tried the baked lobster here, it is very tasty. The pineapple fried rice here also very nice.

This photo was taken from the hotel we stayed, it is very windy. Few hours later, it rained heavily.

Guess what is this?
It is "aqua table dance".
Some of them look beautiful, really like girls if they are not talking to you.

A Rush Trip to Phuket 1

Had a very rush trip to Phuket recently. Before arrive at Phuket airport, I was a bit worry because of The Tsunami Tragedy happened on Dec 2004.
I was worried that I may be staying in a haunted hotel. From the airport, we took the airport limo to the Hotel Montana Grand Hotel at Patong Beach, we took the apportunity to ask the driver something about the Tsunami Tragedy. We were told that the Tsunami only damaged those shops and resorts near beach road. Whereas the hotel we will be staying is not really affected.

There are 3 roads in parallel with the Patong Beach, the Beach Road is severely damaged by Tsunami and many buildings at the beach road now were newly built.

This is a new complex under construction located about 500 meters away from the beach road.

This is Patong Tower, one of the highest building near the beach road, it is only about 100 meters away from the beach. I heard from one of the Singaporean who stay in Patong for more than one a half year that this building was flooded up to the 6th floor by Tsunami and suspected tilted a bit.

Many of the local people who stayed here have already moved out from this building.

This is another part of Patong Town which was not affected by Tsunami. During Tsunami, some of these places were flooded.

Viewing from the hotel we were staying, the beach still looked beautiful now.

This is the second road in parallel with the beach road. At night, it will be crouded by tourists. A long this road, there are many restaurants selling variuos type of food, especially seafoods, cheap and nice.

This was taken from the room we were staying. There are few "Taxi" (so called Taxi, without any sign on the car, it is just like normal vehicle) parked infront of the hotel lobby. These "Taxi" normally serve customers staying in this hotel.

The Sunway City

I went to Sunway City during the weekend. My last visit to Sunway was few year ago.
Different is this round I went there with my elder son.
This is the main entrance of the Sunway Lagoon Hotel. This hotel is well maintained and well decorated. It must be a nice place to stay.
One day must come and try the food here.

After we park our car at Sunway Lagoon Hotel, we went to the Sunway Piramid Shopping Center. It is not a very big shopping center but well maintained as compared to some others in KL.

I was looking for Coffee Beans and Tea Leaves Cafe and I found the information legend is a bit difficult to understand.

After came out from Cofee Beans, we walked back to Sunway Lagoon Hotel a long this street. It is well decorated with lightings.

Maybe due to its attractions, the traffic is very bad here. I even saw policeman issuing summon to those cars parked at the road side.

Behind the lanterns, there are a few night pubs. Quite a number of youngsters are surrounding the pubs and enjoying their drinks.
The entrance fee is RM30.00 per person with a fee drink.

This is taken infront of the Piramid Hotel. As compare to Sunway Lagoon Hotel from the outlook, this is not as good as the Sunway Lagoon Hotel.

There are many cars parked outside the main lobby of the Sunway Lagoon Hotel. I think it may due to many functions is running at the same time.
Ocassionally, you may hear the "Yum Seng" shouted by peoples in the functions.

This is one of the artificial flower at the hotel lobby, it is made by artificial flower the tree roots. It is about 10 feets height.

The side lobby of the hotel.

The entrance to restaurants. There are two restaurants here, one serve Chinese food and the other serve western food.

I saw a signboard of the Japanese restaurant, I but couldn't get where is it.

There are a few stalactites placed at different corner of the lobby. This is one of those very special one.

At the other corner of the lobby, there is this statue of the blindfolded lady. I don't really understand the meaning of it, but I find it quite interesting.

Another corner of the side lobby.

This is the restaurant that served western food. One day must come back here to taste the food, from outlook, it shouold be quite a nice restaurant.
