Wat Pho, Bangkok

Wat Pho, The Temple of Reclining Buddha. One of the famous spot in Bangkok. It is within walking distance from Grand Palace.

It was Thursday afternoon, our actual plan is to visit the Grand Palace. Because the Grand Palace closed for local Thai prayers (until 3 pm), we chosen this as our alternative.

There are many old building in this temple. It is under continuous maintenance to ensure its good condition.

The entrance fee is 50 bath, which is about RM5+. The area of Wat Pho is large and there are many things inside worth visiting.

We didn't have much time to spend here, that's why we missed out quite a number of nice spot in this temple.

May be because of celebration, on the day we visit, there were cultural show in the temple.

This is one of the building under maintenance and we did not enter, the workers are repainting the building.

There are many this kind of building in the temple, not very sure why is this built for. It we were to get a local tour guide with us, then we should be able to get an answer.

It is inside the courtyard of the temple, there are big and also small but with similar shapes.

Siam Paragon, Bangkok

Christmas celebration in Siam Paragon, Bangkok. This is one of the most crowded shopping area in Bangkok. You can reach here by cab or Skytrain (stop at Siam station).

There are a lot of people here at week-end night. Compare to about 3 years ago, this place has improved so much. I could hardly recognize this place.

This is at one of the entrance of the shopping mall. I went to Siam Paragon for dinner, in Tony Romas.

The pork rib is fantastic.

Bangkok International Airport

Bangkok International Airport, a new airport. At the check in point of the airport. There are quite a lot of people here even it is morning 6 a.m.

There were few Chinese here trying to look for target to cheat money. They told me they lost their passport and hopping that I could lend them some money, such that they can buy air ticket to go back to China.

But after that I realize that they were trying to cheat me because there were a few fellows like that going around in the airport and telling the same story.

Pier 92, Bangkok

Pier 92, Bangkok. I was having dinner here with my colleagues. It is a river side restaurant, the view is quite nice, but like many other rivers in Thailand, the pollution in the river is a norm.

In the late evening, there were boats selling food in the river and they will approach foreigners in the restaurant.

The name is Pier 92, not sure why it is called Pier 92. For sure, it is located at the river side, can understand why they use the word "Pier", but why 92?

Did not ask the staff in the restaurant, because it is not easy to get someone to speak English with me.

This is the tower attached is to the restaurant. I think last time it should be functioning as light tower.

But now, I think it is only decorating the riverside and used to attract tourist to visit this restaurant.

Lobby of Fraser Suite

Lobby of Fraser Suite. It is spacious and a nice place for relaxing. The apartment does not provide free net surfing in the lobby, otherwise should bring along the laptop and browse net from here.

Morning in Fraser Suite, Bangkok

Morning in Fraser Suite, Bangkok. It is quite hazy, I am not sure this is due to cold weather or pollution. But I don't really feel fresh air in Bangkok.

Christmas Preparation in 1U Shopping Center

Christmas preparation at Oval in 1U Shopping Center. Raw materials are occupying the whole Oval. Workers have gone for lunch break, as no one is working on it now.

From the framework, I can imagine there will be multiple stalls, maybe food stalls are being set up. There will be a performance stage facing these stalls.

Fraser Suites, Sathorn, Bangkok

Fraser Suites, Sathorn Road, Bangkok. This is a service apartment. I am staying in this apartment for a period of two weeks. This is the cafeteria of the apartment. Every morning, this is the place where we have our breakfast.

Breakfast here is quite simple, buffet type with less than 10 type of main dishes.

This is the front view of the cafeteria. It is quite a beautiful place. But during my stay in this place, due to tight schedule and heavy workload, I don't really have time to enjoy the nice view and environment here. Such as waste.

At 7th floor, there is a nice gym for the residents, I heard from my friends, there is also a nice swimming pool.

This is the main entrance of the apartment. The rental per night is about RM 400 to RM450 for two rooms service apartment unit.

There are quite a lot of foreigner staying here, but hardly see Thailand local people come in or out from here (except workers in this apartment).

Saturday Morning in Bangkok (Sathorn)

This is Sathorn Road on the following day morning. Because this is Saturday, non-working day, there aren't many cars on the road.

Some more, today is Thailand King's birthday, many offices and shops are not operating. As such, the city is a bit quite.

Bangkok Friday Night

Friday night, Sathorn Road in Bangkok. It is coming to week-end. The traffic in Bangkok is terrible, the vehicles jam up Sathorn Road in both directions.

Luckily from the working office to the service apartment I am staying is within walking distance. Otherwise, this may be a terrible experience for my Bangkok trip.
