New Beijing Capital International Airport

This is the new Beijing Capital International Airport. I was rushed for the 2008 Olympic game in Beijing. It is cery much bigger and more organised than the old airport.

I think the old airport is just next to the new airport. The old airport is currently used for other purposes.

These are check-in counters. There are many airlines and hundreds of flights organised within each day. This photo was taken from the restaurant before the check-in counter.

We arrived the airport few hours before the check-in time. This is because we were taking the domestic transit via Beijing. It is safer to have at least 4 hours transit time in China because flight delayed is very common.

The worst case is sometime some local China airlines may at the last minute cancelled the flight. Then it will give you a lot of problem. A few of my friends encountered this before. So, always call to confirm your flight 4 - 6 hours before the flight (for domestic transit).

This is after the imigration custom. It is very quite now because the flight is schedule at 12.10 am midnight. During day time, there will be many people waiting here.

This is a little Chinese style garden in the airport. It is also because the photo was taken at midnight, that's why I manage to take this photo without people in the scene.

At the other corner, there is another Japanese style shop. I am not sure what there are selling, because the shop was already closed.

This is the fountain at the middle of the departure hall. Immediately after the imigration custom.

Berjaya Air to Tioman

Subang Airport
This is one of the airplane of Berjaya Air. We were waiting on the boarding area of the Subang Airport. This is a propeller type engine airplane and nowadays not many this type of airplane still servicing in Malaysia.
This is a small plane and it is capable of carrying 100 to 150 passengers.

Subang Airport
At the other side of the airport, there is another plane belongs to FireFly airline. This is one of the budget airline service in Malaysia other than AirAsia. It is also a propeller type engine plane.

Tioman Island Airport
It is a very small airport. If I am not mistaken, there is only one runway in the airport. There are few helicopters in the airport upon our arrival.
On top of that, I think it is only servicing Berjaya Airway, which no other airline is flying to Tioman Island.

Tioman Island Airport
This photo was taken when we were about to leave Tioman Island. Berjaya Air only fly a few trips to Tioman Island a day. There is a free shuttle service available from the airport to Berjaya Tioman Resort.

If there is any change of schedule, the resort reception will be notofied such that you don't need to waste your time waiting in airport. Instead, you can enjoy your time in the resort.

Sunset in Tioman Island

Evening in Tioman. This is a peaceful island. Not much of entertainment at night. As such, it is a very nice place for relaxing.

The beach is facing the west, soI was able to enjoy the beautiful sunset. The weather is good and hardly rain during this season. Most of the time, in KL, I will not be able to enjoy the nice scenery of sunset even though some time I work in high raise building and facing the west. The time I reach home is normally late and after the sunset.

Me may praise and proud of this here, but for those people who are living in island may not like it. Human are like this, when you are having it, you will never appreciate it. When you lose it, you will try all ways to get it back again.

I was a kampong boy and I stayed in a very quite and peaceful village before. At that time, we hardly find night life entertainment in our kampong.

But at that time, people were hoping for night life entertainments. But now, after it is developed into a small town, people are complaining about polution, cultural shocks, noise and etc which cause by development.

I spent about 7 days in Tioman for this holiday trip. Every morning, after breakfast, I go to beach with my family. In the afternoon, we come back to the resort for a short nap and food.

Afternoon, about 2pm, we will go to beach again. This kind life style is very similar to kampong boy life style. It makes me recall those days when I was in my hometown as a small boy. I did the same also. But, instead of going to beach, I go to the river and estate. Life was so simple.

Berjaya Resort, Tioman Island

Berjaya Resort. One of the top ranked resorts in Tioman Island, Malaysia. It has a long and beutiful beach.
We heard from the staff in the resort, this island belongs to the Sultan of Pahang state. Berjaya group is leasing this island from the Sultan.

This recort has a nice lobby. At night, this maybe a nice place for meeting friends and talk about your tour experience during day time.
At the same time you can also plan your following day tour.
As a tip, if you are taking Berajaya Air flight, you should check your flight schedule before you check out from the resort to avoid uneccessary waiting in the airport. If the flight is delayed, the resort will be informed.

There is no worry of communcation in this island. There is Maxis mobile coverage here and and Maxis 3G coverage here.
If you need Internet access, you can either use Maxis 3G or purchase Wifi service from the resort.

For those who like challenges, this Challenger Park may be a nice place for you.

This is the swimming pool in the resort. There are two pools in the resort, this is just outside the restaurant Sri Melaka. You can enjoy your sun bath beside the pool and at the same time order your food and beverages from the restaurant.

Butterfly Farm, Cameron Highland

Butterfly Farm. One of the tourist spot in Cameron Highland. The entrance fee is RM4.00 for adult, and RM2.00 for kids (3 to 12 years old).  There aren't many types of butterfly in the farm, but the compensating point is that there are other insects and reptiles in the farm. Such as, spider, snake, leave mantis, scorpion, snail, lizard and etc.
There is a small garden in the farm also, but the types of flower is not as many as other farms in Cameron Highland.

KL Bird Park

KL Bird Park, located near the Butterfly park and Taman Tasik.

This is a type of parrot. Can't recall the name of its type. The photo was taken in the Parrot World of the bird park.

I was having lunch at the Honrbill Restaurant, the view is fantastic, but the food is expensive and not nice. Maybe this is the one and the only restaurant in the park, there are still many visitors (especially foreigners) having food in this place.

I think this is a crane. There are a few of this birds scatter around near the entrance. They are not fear of people visiting the park.

This white parrot is locked inside the cage. It can speak English, like "helo", "good bye" and etc.

Behind this cage is the photograph area of the park. You will need to pay certain amount of money in order to take photo with these bird.

Ostrich.

This is a kind of bird looked like ostrich. The size is slightly smaller than ostrich.

Peacock. One of the beautiful birds in the park.

Hornbill. Located in zone 2. The size of this bird is about the size of a goose. This is a smart bird, that's why they are trained to be performer in the park.

Peasant. Its size is slightly smaller than a chicken.

Near the main entrance of the park, there a many this kind of small birds. The park is divided into 4 zones, these birds are located in zone 1.

Theme Park, Genting Highland

This is inside the Indoor Theme Park of Genting Highland.

Starbucks Coffee in the Theme Park. We had cups of coffee and sandwich in this restaurant. The taste is as other outlet outside Genting, but the price is of course higher.

I couldn't recall the name of this ride, but it is one interesting one. It brings you to go around the indoor park to have an overview of all activities in the park.

This photo was taken when we were riding the Caterpillar Monorail.

This is the same ride as the above. This was taken when we were having lunch at one of the restaurant.

This is an outdoor activity. The weather outside was coold and just after rain. But it does not stopped those people from enjoying the ride.

This was one of the Caterpillar Monorail in the station. I think it was under maintenance. Looks cute.

This is the Pirate Ship ride. As usual, people were screaming while riding.

This is the Reindeer ride. We tried this also. But, in the late evening, it was mulfunction and there are people get stucked up there.

Cable Car, Genting Highland

Cable car service at Genting Hingland, provided by Genting Group. If you stay in Awana Hotel, you will be given two ways free tickets to Genting peak on daily basis. The service start from the morning until late night.

This is the longest distance cable car service in Asia.

But one bad experience we had was some tourists were jumped queue in the station and the staff in the station didn't even bother to control them (I think is a group of Indians or Pakistanese). Furthermore, their staff were not happy when got complained by one of the local people. I think they have to improve their servie in this perspective.

When come to late evening, it is totally another kind of experience in taking this cable car service in this mountain. The weather is chilling cool and there are all kinds of insect sound from the jungle underneath.
