Theme Park, Genting Highland

This is inside the Indoor Theme Park of Genting Highland.

Starbucks Coffee in the Theme Park. We had cups of coffee and sandwich in this restaurant. The taste is as other outlet outside Genting, but the price is of course higher.

I couldn't recall the name of this ride, but it is one interesting one. It brings you to go around the indoor park to have an overview of all activities in the park.

This photo was taken when we were riding the Caterpillar Monorail.

This is the same ride as the above. This was taken when we were having lunch at one of the restaurant.

This is an outdoor activity. The weather outside was coold and just after rain. But it does not stopped those people from enjoying the ride.

This was one of the Caterpillar Monorail in the station. I think it was under maintenance. Looks cute.

This is the Pirate Ship ride. As usual, people were screaming while riding.

This is the Reindeer ride. We tried this also. But, in the late evening, it was mulfunction and there are people get stucked up there.

Cable Car, Genting Highland

Cable car service at Genting Hingland, provided by Genting Group. If you stay in Awana Hotel, you will be given two ways free tickets to Genting peak on daily basis. The service start from the morning until late night.

This is the longest distance cable car service in Asia.

But one bad experience we had was some tourists were jumped queue in the station and the staff in the station didn't even bother to control them (I think is a group of Indians or Pakistanese). Furthermore, their staff were not happy when got complained by one of the local people. I think they have to improve their servie in this perspective.

When come to late evening, it is totally another kind of experience in taking this cable car service in this mountain. The weather is chilling cool and there are all kinds of insect sound from the jungle underneath.

Genting Highland - at night

The temperature in Genting Highland at night can go as low as 15 degree celsius. It rains quite frequent as compared to other cities in Malaysia. At night, normally after rain it will be clouded by fog and very windy. Sometimes the visibility scale can be very low. If you were to drive in this kind of weather, I think you have to be extra careful.

We were waiting for a shuttle bus to fetch us back to hotel. While waiting, there was a person walking from the other end of the station towards me. I hardly see him until he came nearer to me. I think the distance is about 30 meters from me.

Hahahahaha....... I am not telling ghost tale.

Any drivers will not be able to see the words and symbols in the signboard at all. If you are not familiar with the roadmap here, it is better to take a bus or cab then.

But bear in mind that those taxi drivers in Genting Highland will raise the taxi fare when the weather turns bad.

:D

Chin Swee Temple, Genting Highland

Genting Highland, one of the very famous tourist spot in Malaysia. The weather here is fantastic, range from 18 degree celsius to 25 degree celsius, whole year long.

Genting Highland is situated between Pahang state and Selangor state. There are people saying the casino is located in Pahang state, the Theme Park is in Selangor state, then Genting only need to pay the casino license to Pahang state only).

Most people will think Genting Highland is a gamblers' heaven, but there is another side of it. Chin Swee Temple is one of the fascinating place there. I was there many times, until recently only I discover this interesting place.

Because of the location of this temple, it is not easy for visitor to discover the entrance of the temple. You have to be extra cautious in order not to miss the entrance to this temple on the way up to Genting Highland.

There are few big buddha statues within the compound of this temple, Amitabha is one of them.

There is a 9 levels pagoda in the temple. We spent about 30 minutes to reach the top level of this temple and taken a photo of the temple from top.

In the temple, there is a storyboard that tells the tales of this temple. It was built by the founder of Genting Group, Tan Sri Lim Goh Tong. It also mentions Tan Sri Lim's experience with the initial exploration of Genting Highland.

The god of this mountain had encouraged Tan Sri Lim to start the caniso business. In front of the worship yard, there establishing Tan Sri Lim's statue and storyboards.
